About Us
Ecolodges Indonesia is a small company committed to ecotourism making a serious and professional contribution to biodiversity conservation and to improving the livelihoods of the communities in the locations where we operate our Ecolodges.
On this blog you’ll find personal experiences from travelers, news on wildlife sightings, information about special projects, up-to-date conservation information and a heaps of interesting links.
Ecotourism is a way to see some of Indonesia’s most threatened species before they are gone and a chance to make the money you spend contribute to helping save them.
Think carefully about what a future world without many of the iconic animals that capture our imagination would really be like. Imagine no elephants, no tigers, no apes !

Many of the world’s wild animal populations are seriously threatened or on the verge of extinction. Indonesia is home to some of the most critically threatened and endangered species and is an important biodiversity hot spot. Increasing pressure on forests and natural habitats is rapidly devastating wild populations.
Ecotourism offers a chance to help. By bringing tourists into threatened areas we can generate alternative income sources for local communities and help reduce the encroachment on forests.
So if you want to see some of the most stunningly beautiful areas on the planet and see some of these amazing animals in the wild - visit one of our ecolodges and be a part of the solution.
