Lifetime Service Award

April 01, 2009: Bali, Indonesia: Founder and Chairman of Ecolodges Indonesia, Dr Wilson has made significant contributions during his life to global poverty alleviation and wildlife conservation, but there is another passion which he has now been recognised for.

 

Alan has received the prestigious Lifetime Service Award by the International Cricket Council, East Asia -Pacific (ICC - EAP).

 

As the international governing body for cricket, the International Cricket Council values openness, honesty and integrity, working to the highest ethical standards - all exemplified by Dr Wilson’s lifelong professional dedication to Animal Husbandry, improving the livelihoods of people in developing economies through international development and ecotourism  .

 

ICC - EAP stated that Alan ‘has been an outstanding long time servant of cricket in Indonesia, and is widely attributed as the man who has made cricket what it is today in Indonesia through his perseverance, commitment and generosity.’

 

‘Cricket is a wonderful  game where people of different skills and strengths come together to work as a team‘, said Dr Wilson. ‘Here in Indonesia, it has helped develop a sense of fairness, equity and respect for diversity that are fundamental in the international game of cricket.’
